just so everyone knows – this video is misleading. Aveeno DOES test on animals. It’s owned by johnson and johnson. Please research before you buy!!

I might have to do more research on it.

i thought i was sensitive to spf products but i wasn’t. it really depends on what main ingredients each sunscreen has. different active ingredient to each sunscreen there is. without sunscreen you cannot avoid premature skin ageing and increased risk of skin cancer. try non comedogenic sunscreens with spf 30+ at least. because anything less than that you have to reapply every 3-4 hours during the day to get the effect.

some people react badly to cetaphil or aveeno, like me, my skin burned and got reddened for four days straight after one night’s use.

  8. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 9:41 am

yeah strongly agree. I use enzyme peel it does not irritate and exfoliates better.

  9. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 10:21 am

definitely BHA 2% and enzyme peeling cleansers. i stay away from scrubs with large harsh granules. enzyme peel exfoliates better with no irritation

  10. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 10:50 am

apricot kernel scrub is a definitely no-no as it increases sensitivity level of your skin.

  11. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 11:39 am

retinoid is said to be good for acne prevention but only in medicated dose. i suggest you use Paula’s Choice BHA 2% toner instead, because over-the-counter BHA products tend to sting your skin with methols and all the other crap it it. BHA gets deep down into your pores and it is the only good exfoliator for acne prone skin

i use a separate sunscreen apart from my moisturiser – nivea light veil spf30 + or netrogena ultra sheer (the most mattifying product i have ever used with no colouration)

  13. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 1:15 pm

I use dove pro-age night cream with AHA (7%), I am also on prescribed acne medicinal cream called EpiDuo which has retinoids in it (good for wrinkles apart from acne prevention)

BUT always use good sunscreen. skin ageing is caused by harsh sun light and lack of moisture mostly.

  14. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 1:44 pm

i wouldn’ t really recommend a cleanser with methol or alcohol in it, these two ingredients do not do anything to your skin but only irritates it.

  15. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 2:22 pm

use retinoid or glycolic acid (AHA). they have been proven to lighten scars. estheticians recommend hydoquinone, and it is the only medically proven ingredient that lightens skin but there are concerns regarding this product.. people use acne medicine called differin in a long term period to benefit from its wrinkle reduction and skin lightening properties.

  16. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 3:02 pm

people react differently to ingredients, i guess she should have pointed out what active ingredients in moisturisers there are and how they work. mineral oil may not be favoured by people since it is petroleum jelly. but it is non comedogenic, like you put on vaseline and it does not clog pores.

  17. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 3:40 pm

no what she meant was “mineral oil” which is another word for petroleum jelly.

  18. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 3:55 pm

mineral oil is one of the cheap ingredients found in cosmetic products. divided opinions on whether it is comedogenic or not. but i prefer mineral oil based product than shea butter since cetaphil and aveeno both literally burned my sensitive skin.

  19. Comments  calamityjj   |  Friday, 05 February 2010 at 3:59 pm

avoid apricot kernel scrub since it is too harsh for your skin!

vitamins b for preventing beriberi

If this desviadarente vitamin complex in the minds of our scientists and specialists innutrition crack.Il is happy for them that the other vitamins – A, C, D, K, etc – are not as complex as vitamin B. Human mind can not hope to unravel this complexity.

B vitamins are essential to life, are found in all living things. It is difficult to distinguish between perturbations caused by a deficiency of personano members of the complex and has more than once was the case of a deficiency attributable to a lack of whats group that later was found due to several missing. Beriberi is the most notable example of this (a few years ago, vitamin B was thought to be composed of only two factors. One of them was known as vitamin F, and the other vitamin G.) Only three of the complex group B has been shown the importance of human beings. We will tell us more of these three here.

B1, or thiamine, vitamin antineuritic: This vitamin is said to prevent and cure beriberi. It is an organic compound consisting of two parts, one of which contains sulfur and nitrogen from petroleum. Is not destroyed by oxygen, but is destroyed by heat, especially above the boiling point, when the heating is maintained for some time, as in baking, cooking and frying. The tiaminae is not destroyed by cooking at 100 ° for one hour, but it is soluble in water, so much of it is in the water in foods that are cooked. Soda is added to food in the kitchen adds to the destruction of B1.

As an enzyme, which encourages the conversion of glucose dioxide carboneet water. If there is a deficiency of this vitamin that change is incomplete and an accumulation of pyruvic acid results. Is encouraged and essential to growth, it is essential for normal nerve function is essential for the use of carbohydrates, is “encouraging” the appetite and the normal functions of the inteStino and is essential for reproduction and lactation. It is said that to prevent and “cure” and other forms of beriberi neuritis and diseases of the heart and circulation associated with it.

Beriberi, neuritis or multiple, which is characterized by inflammation of peripheral nerves ydegeneración, intense pain, which, ultimately, paralysis and wasting of muscles, it is said in response to B1 deficiency. It should be noted, however, that diets that aren in beriberi are deficient in B1.

One of the first symptoms of B1 deficiency is loss of appetite, but the reader should not think that is the only cause of loss of appetite. DEB1 The amount needed varies with the activity. Any increase in metabolic rate increases the need for this vitamin. Muscular work and the growing need. Undoubtedly, the cold, it does the same. We need a daily supply due to this límitealmacenamiento.

B1 is said not to be widely distributed and vegetables and fruit are said onpauvres sources. Emphasis is placed on the yeast, and whole soybeans as the source of this vitamin. This becomes an error, because there are many animals that vegetarians do not eat these products. Milk is considered a mathe source, but the amount needed for normal growth is three to five times more than required by adults to prevent beriberi. This milk is the only diet of the calves during the period of fastest growth. Yeast and wheat germ are highlighted as sources. Alégards, the “authorities” to focus on certain commercial food plants.

B1, or thiamine synthetic chlorine should not be used or having to eat liver extract Higado of this vitamin. Yeast preparations should be avoided. All B1 for all purposes of life is derived from vegetables, fresh fruit and nuts. Wheat germ and rice are also rich in polishings it like most beans and peas.

B2 or riboflavin (vitamin and flavin G) consists of a single type of sugar (ribose) and a yellow pigment (flavin), hence the name. It is slightly soluble in water, not withstand exposure to direct sunlightthe sun, but is largely unchanged by heat. It is composed of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen and oxygen. Is decomposed by both visible and ultraviolet. It was first discovered in milk in 1879, was known mainly vitamins has also been called Lactoflavin.

In collaboration with thiamine and niacin, riboflavin joueun important role in the oxidation of carbohydrates. Promotes and is essential for health. Their absence in the diet of rats is saidwhich resulted in loss of hair and atrophy of the secretory glands of the oil. Riboflavin deficiency is said to result in skinlesions, especially Cheli or cracks in the corners of the mouth, and cheilitis. Vitamin B3 has not been isolated and its nature is unknown. It is believed to be identical to pantothentic acid.
