- VITAMIN FOR BATTLE WAGONS! Nobody ever saw a vitamin as it exists in a natural food. But there is no question of its presence – or absence – when judged by the effect of the food on the human body. Years before Pearl Harbor, scientists at the “University of Petroleum,” Shell’s research laboratories, were taking molecules apart in an effort to discover the natural “vitamin” to prevent rust in the turbines that drive our ships and power our industry. They thought that RUST might be regarded as due to a “deficiency disease” – as beri-beri and pellagra ar deficiency diseases of people lacking the right vitamins. Question their theory if you will, THEIR RESEARCH SUCCEEDED. They found their “anti-rust vitamin” – in time to meet the greatest need in our Navy’s history. Like a natural food vitamin, it is invisible. They know it is present, or absent, by the result. When it is added to turbine oil, for example, a film forms over the metal which is impervious to moisture even under high bearing stress. The turbines in our Navy’s battlewagons have been stepped up in efficiency to the point where they consume less fuel than those of any other Navy – giving our ships greatly increased range. In global warfare you know what this means. Successful operatio of these improved turbines – their resistance to “Black Rust,” whose attack is deadliest when the pressure is greatest – is a tribute to Shell’s “anti-rust vitamin. ” . . . . . 1944 Shell Oil Company Ad, A5478.

Well most of them you cant actually “prevent. ” But visiting your local vet at least 2 times a year, or when ever your precious pooch needs medical attention is a very good way to insure and check up on your dogs health.
cancer of the testicles, get him fixed. the rest just happens. regualr vet check ups and good dog food. and seizures and epilepsy are the same thing.
exercise
Feed a high quality diet such as Innova, Wellness, or Canidae. The BARF diet is also great. You can prevent skin problems by keeping fleas/ticks and other parasites off your dog with meds like Frontline and K9Advantix. The best thing you can do for your dog is take it to the vet regularly for check ups.
ADD: Oh yeah, and neutering prevents testicular cancer.
Feed top of the line easily digested food, put the dog on a schedule like feeding at 8 in the morning 2 pm and 8 at night to control his blood sugar. and make sure he has clean water at all times. Their stomachs are very small and they can’t eat a lot at a time that’s why vets recommend three feedings. Do not play with him/her right after eating they don’t have the best digestive systems. Do Not Feed People Food even as treats. This is the worst thing you can do to any dog. Their systems are not compatible to human food the salts and sugars and other chemicals in it is really bad and can cause liver disease really fast.
Make sure when he goes potty to look for any thing different in his stool, I don’t mean you have to do anything but look at it, and keep the yard cleaned up. Try to keep him out of very hot or very cold drafts. He should have a bed that comes up on the sides enough to block him from drafts on the floor. If you take him with you places get a carrier he can be carried in, one with a flat bottom large enough for him to lay down, and keep him in it in the car and use the seat belt through the handle. I’ve seen little dogs badly injured just from the owner having to slam on the brakes and they weren’t protected. The other thing is riding in the car up close to windows can dry their eyes out or cause irritation, not a good idea. Also most vet’s or large pet food stores have a sticker you can put in a window close to your front door. It is for emergancy people in case of fire that there is an animal inside and put what kind on the sticker so they aren’t looking for the wrong size dog.
